Increase Online Traffic Promotion for Internet Success

It doesn't matter if you are just starting out with your Internet marketing efforts or if you've been at it for quite some time, you need to increase online traffic in order to stay ahead and to be successful for the long term.  Although this is easy enough to say, putting it into action often requires you to take some steps on your own and to make it happen.  If you are having a difficult time getting targeted traffic to your website, here is one promotional tactic that will increase online traffic on almost a daily basis.

Although this marketing promotion is often known as article marketing, it has been called bum marketing in recent years.  The basic concept is easy enough to understand and all you really need to do is to write some articles around specific keywords and submit them to the popular article directories.  The real secret is choosing keywords that are extremely targeted to what ever it is that you are offering and making sure that they have low competition in the search engines.  In other words, don't try to go for the gusto with article marketing because you will be disappointed with your efforts.  Choose keywords that are obtainable and be persistent in your efforts and you would be surprised how far you can take this tactic.

Although there are hundreds of different ways to increase online traffic, this one should be used on a regular basis.  It is really only one marketing method, however, in a chorus of others that should not be ignored.  Remember, the more you promote, the more you will receive.

My website is about 2 years old and consists of half-an-hour or less recipes with "clever" introductory captions.  I am averaging between 300 & 350 viisits per day.  It's growing but very slowly.  I wonder if this website theme should be drawing a much greater number at this point or if recipe sites are typically slower to grow than ones with more meaty (bad pun) topics. Any thoughts?

What are some of the best article sites?  I would hate to eat up my time searching for article directories only to find out that my article would get buried so deep that it would never be seen!

Ezinearticles is probably the most well known one, LydiaB. With it being very busy, you won't stay on the recently approved articles list on the front page long admittedly.

From what my Trusted Advisor said there though, I think if you choose carefully the right keywords, you can make your articles come out higher up the list in your chosen category than most when someone does a search.

Personally I like SearchWarp. It's smaller and has more of a community feel to it. Your articles will get approved fast there, usually within a day as opposed to Ezinearticles which I think is closer to four or five days last I looked. Don't take that as gospel, it may be faster. Of course smaller sites don't get the same number of eyeballs though.

I tend to use a few hand-submission sites like EzineArticles, and also some mass submission services.

One's that I've had success with include http://iSnare.com and http://SubmitYourArticle.com

iSnare has a free option, but you can also buy credits to mass submit your article.  SubmitYourArticle is $37 a month and only allows you 8 submissions a month, but they also submit to actual publishers so I reserve this for my "best" content i.e. reader-focused content rather than search engine focused content.

While this is a very interesting method of gaining traffic to your site, I see two problems with it. Creating original, quality content is quite time consuming. And once you have submitted it to a directory, where thousands of articles are submitted, it might get buried so deep that nobody will ever hear of it. Sad So, is there any other way?

makingmillions,

There are a ton of other ways to generate traffic. Using articles has a couple of benefits though.

One of the most important is branding. By associating your name with high-quality content you are able to set yourself up to be an expert (even if you're not).

Another big advantage is by writing articles and linking them to your your site, you are able to gain backlinks and often time improve the ranking of your website in the search engine rankings.

The most obvious benefit to article marketing is........it's free.

Yes, great points guys.

Thanks for the share Richard and Jeremy.

Another one of the benefits is that you are published in a "third party" publication and being featured as an expert which is quite different than putting up a site where you say, "Hey everyone! I'm the expert. Listen to me and buy my products."  Cheesy

Once you've had your first 10 articles published with Ezine Articles, they are reviewed and usually approved within 24 hours for platinum level expert authors.
