The software distribution method to increase web site traffic has to do with generating padfiles which is a way you can create a software file to be distributed to software directories for people to download and use your applications.

You can be creative with their titles or do market research to find out what the most people are looking for when determining what to name your software.

Then you simply fill out a few fields, create an accurate and compelling description to be indexed in the directories and upload the new file from your harddrive.

There are tools for submitting your new softwares and pad files to the various directories which allow you
to submit them to several at once so you don't have to do it one at a time.

a free pad file generator, walk through how to create it and then free softwares and sites you can use to submit your new software.

The sources of information I gather are varied and mostly through independent research and testing.

i think forum marketing or pay per click

and sometimes I use Pay Per Click

So far article marketing, forums and blogs have been the way to go.  Not only can you get the work out about your site, but you can also drop your anchor links as well which will eventually help the SEO of you site as well.
