So you log on into Youtube, post your video and smile in glee while your video goes viral to 10 billion people..

Reality check

most probably, its somehwer luring with no pageviews..

How to get traffic then?

Simple, link it in the video responses section of viral videos, and then bookmark it using social bookmarking sites, use good tags to describe your video too

1. You will get some traffics from the other video you linked from..
2. When you bookmark, it will get into google search, and hopefully it rank well there to show up in searcg listings..
3. Using good metatags help others to locate your video when they search in youtube..

This is basic, but simple ideas..

 Smiley Nice idea.

Of course, you recommend linking as responses videos to only videos that are relevant in theme/content to your video for more targeted traffic, right?

I think linking only to material/comments/videos is the best way to go for sure. I've heard a lot about videos as a traffic generation method but was honestly pretty clueless about it before so thanks for posting this up.

Some people are saying that the easiest way to drive traffic from videos is by creating a nude video and then upload it on Youtube.  Link the video to your site but don?t do this if your site is not related to porn.

Thanks, asianlunatic. It's not an avenue I've explored at all actually. I've only ever watched YouTube, never uploaded anything.

Does anyone know if YouTube's suitable for "How To" type videos or is there somewhere else that's more geared to hosting educational type ones?

I have ones that I made up ages ago I'd forgotten all about until I found them last night. They're slides for tutorials though made into a movie, not a person. Does that matter?

Sure, make a video, or a slide show into a video then upload it to YouTube.  It's best if it is less than two minutes long for most of these sites.

Next, take that url from YouTube and Post it to http://heyspread.com/ which loads it to about 20(might be less) other top video sites for about a buck.

Have a watermark from heyspread on your video with the url to the site you are promoting.

Or when you make your video, put the url in the beginning and/or the end of the video for greater exposer.

Scott, thanks so much for the speedy response! The slideshow plays like a video already and I think it was about two mins thirty if I remember right. I'd need to add the url like you say to it. It's been so long since I made it I can barely remember what's on it so it'll need reworked anyway.  Smiley

Thanks as well for the tip on heyspread! I'd not heard of them but that's not surprising with me not exactly being up to the minute with all this. I'll look into them and the watermark part too.

Cheers, Scott! Nice to meet you btw. Smiley

That's good to know about heyspread. I hadn't heard of the program before but it seems like it could work a charm for a solid video and hopefully generate loads of traffic.

Video lists faster than any post. It is a best means of advertising on internet media. Providing link in the video will increase the popularity on internet.

Thanks for providing useful information about video submission.
