There are paid ways and free ways to increase your website traffic online. There are also longer term and shorter term methods. I always suggest running through all of your free methods before turning to paid methods, and then once you begin paid methods you should start out small and slowly.

Article marketing is becoming increasingly wide spread as a premiere traffic generation tool, and for good reason too. It is free, easy to do (just takes time and good grammar), and the effects can be long lasting. Your articles won’t go away and will remain online for many years. The longer they sit there the more link value they have to your site.

Ezine ads are also becoming very popular with online marketers. Ezine ads cost more per visitor than article marketing but it can still be a useful marketing tool. It can also be started on a small budget and ezines are great because they can be niche targeted to the audience of your website.

The next method that works really well is very well known in online website traffic generation. PPC services are offered through many different advertising networks and search engines. The most widely known is Adwords from Google. While PPC is a very good way to generate highly targeted traffic immediately it can cost a lot of money if not done properly.

There are many ways to generate website traffic online so which one should you try first? Ideally you want to go with the free ones first and the ones that cost the least and can give you long-term results. Article marketing is a great head start and should be used first. Then go from there, do some trial and error and see what works the best for you.

Isn't this common knowledge by now ? I know most people have tried this already and still are struggling to get traffic.
We have to be more specific. For Example. If you used a certain Website Promotion and You got very little results, We need to make that known to other networkers. We should also talk about our bad experiences this way we can help other networkers save time and money. Alot of people a pushing website promotion product that they know are not working just to make a commission. This is bad and it hurts everyone. I only promote products that I use. I would be happy to share some website promotion products that seem to be popular and really does not work, but I don't know if that is allowed. Because I will be calling companies out by name. My point is we have to help each other out by saying what is not good, not just by saying what is good all the time.  Try a product out. If you don't get traffic Don't promote it just to get a Commission, You will only be hurting the person you sell the product to.

Phillip you make a good point and yet one thing some people can forget after awhile
is what they take for granted as common knowledge is something someone else
has yet to implement.

That gap between acquiring the knowledge and successfully implementing
it within the context of your specific business by adapting the model
can be the difference between failure and success.

Sometimes you'll notice members recommending products within
their posts which have their aff links attached (not allowed here)
just trying to pike it to get a commission.

If you look around long enough, you'll see those
are the posts that either get nuked, zapped and
removed or at least the links edited out of them.

If you ever see someone around here doing
something like that, just send a pm
to either one of the mods or myself
and we'll take care of it.

You'd be surprised some of the people
who are members here and others
who just lurk when you realize
how successful they truly are.

Remember, most of the systems
regarded as common knowledge
became common for a reason...they work.

The key is to adapt what works
for your business and then
implement it in the way
which serves the purposes
for your business.

Hope this answers your question
and thanks for posting
your take on it.
